GWM charging cable

GWM's electric range in Europe is led by the Ora line, the retro-styled Ora 03 and the larger Ora 07, with plug-in hybrid models under the Wey and Haval badges. The Ora models use a Type 2 inlet for AC charging and a CCS2 connector for DC rapid charging, so one Voldt® cable covers both cars. On AC they charge at up to 11 kW three-phase, so most drivers will want an 11 kW three-phase cable.

GWM charging specs and cable recommendations

The GWM Ora 03 and GWM Ora 07 are fully electric hatchbacks with an onboard charger of up to 11 kW three-phase on the higher-battery versions. A Voldt® 11 kW three-phase cable matches that capacity at any compatible wall box or public charge point, and a 22 kW cable future-proofs the setup without any day-to-day trade-off.

Entry-level Ora 03 versions with the smaller battery charge single-phase at around 7 kW. A Voldt® 7.4 kW single-phase cable draws the full onboard rate on those cars. Both Ora models use a Type 2 inlet, so any Voldt® Type 2 charging cable connects without an adapter.

Getting cable length right

The distance between your charge point and the car's inlet varies more than most people expect, and it changes depending on which direction you pull in, which side of the car the inlet is on, and whether the cable needs to clear a kerb or run along a wall. A 4 m cable works in a contained garage setup where the wall box is installed directly beside the parking space. For standard driveways and carports, 6 m or 8 m covers both inlet positions without pulling taut or leaving large coils on the ground.

At public charge points, the situation is less predictable. Bays fill up, angles vary, and the post is not always where you expect it. An 8 m cable handles most of these scenarios comfortably. If you regularly charge at workplaces or destination chargers with longer cable runs, or share a home charge point between two vehicles, 10 m or 15 m removes the variables entirely.
